After spending years handling vineyards for some of the biggest companies in the area, Giuseppe Papadopoli sensed that the Apulian wine market was changing, and wanted to take the leap into ownership. In 1991, Giuseppe purchased his first hectares of vines outside San Giorgio Ionico, a small village that falls within the Primitivo di Manduria DOC, hosting unique soils of clay, sand, and shells and a location just 5 meters from the sea. In 2005, the winery produced their first vintage wines of Negroamaro, and since, have continued to produce wines of indigenous varieties true to the region’s history
